I’ve spent over 15 years helping brands find their voice.

I’m Gemma Walker, a brand and communications strategist based in the New Forest.

Over the last couple of decades I’ve worked with everyone from household names like Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Shell to charities like Children with Cancer UK and startups breaking into new markets. I’ve also been lucky enough to partner with incredible independent businesses right here on the Hampshire coast, and even founded Lymington Local in my free time to support and promote them.

So what really lights me up? Working with founders and SMEs. The people who’ve poured themselves into their business, but struggle to put into words what makes them different. That’s where I come in.

My approach

Human first. I take the time to listen to you and your story — because your brand is personal. That focus on people extends beyond the founder too: I want to understand your audience and what makes them tick. From there I take the messy thoughts in your head and translate them into clear, compelling language. I don’t just capture what you’re trying to say — I understand your brand and what you’re trying to do. I get under the skin of it and pull out the parts that will resonate most and work hardest with your audience. Throughout, I keep clarity over complexity: no jargon, no overblown decks, just frameworks and messaging you can actually use. And beyond positioning, I provide actionable content and channel plans that make it simple to put your brand into practice.

Why me?

With over a decade of experience supporting small businesses in the New Forest — from Reformer Rooms to Fairweathers Garden Centre — as well as working with national and international organisations as part of my agency work, I bring both breadth and depth to brand strategy.

I’ve built and launched brands from scratch, like She’s Electric (a community of 8,000+ women championing sustainability in the EV space), and I’ve repositioned established organisations such as Children with Cancer UK and UKAEA so they connect with new audiences. I know how to make brands look special in their sector and stand out where it matters most, and I’m equally comfortable in the boardroom or at a founder’s kitchen table.

If you’re ready to feel clearer about your brand - and finally have the words to express what makes you different - I’d love to chat.
